Why need supporting document such as a visa or residence for Turkey Visa

The Turkish Electronic Visa (e Visa) application system was launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey on 17 April 2013. This system allows visitors traveling to Turkey to easily obtain their e-Visa online in about 3 -5 minutes.

Foreigners wishing to visit Turkey for tourism, business or holiday purposes can apply for a 24/7 visa at any time. To apply for a visa, they must fill out the Turkey Visa Application Form, which will require specific personal and travel information. This includes entering your personal details, passport details, email address and paying the visa fee online. Once the applicant has paid the visa fee using a debit or credit card, the visa application process will begin immediately.

Turkey E Visa Important Guidelines:

• Please note that Turkey e Visa is valid only if the purpose of travel is tourism or commerce. For other purposes, such as work and study, visa travelers need to obtain a visa from Turkish embassies or consulates.
• Only ordinary passport holders can apply for Turkey eVisa online.
• It is a mandatory requirement that the traveler's passport is valid for 6 months from the date of their arrival in Turkey.

In Addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey has Added Special e Visa Conditions for Some Countries:

There are about 63 countries that have special eVisa conditions, with applicant passport holders from that country only eligible for a Turkey single-entry eVisa. Applicants can stay in Turkey for 30 days and valid for 180 days from the granted dates.

Turkey eVisa condition 1

Applicants must hold a valid Supporting Document (Valid Visa OR Valid Residence Permit) in one of these countries:

• Schengen Area country
• Ireland
• United Kingdom (UK)
• United States (US)

Note: E-visas are not accepted as supporting documents. Supporting document information must be his/her own and not someone else's. Otherwise, your e-Visa will become invalid.

Turkey eVisa condition 2

Passport holders from conditional eVisa countries must travel with an airline that has signed a protocol with the Turkish Foreign Ministry. Currently, the accepted airlines are:

• Turkish Airlines
• Pegasus Airlines
• Onur Air

Note: This eVisa condition applies to all listed countries except Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and the Philippines.

Turkey eVisa condition 3

Travelers cand prove at the port of entry that I have at least 50 USD or equivalent foreign currency for each day of my stay in your country.

How to get Turkey Visa without supporting documents like Visa or Residence?

If the traveler does not have any supporting documents, he/she wishes to travel to Turkey. Citizens of countries who are ineligible for an eVisa and do not have supporting documents (valid visa or valid residence permit). Instead, they should contact their local Turkish embassy or consulate.
